What is set up for the UAE
What you get today
Tax invoices at 5% VAT
A company set to the UAE invoices in AED. A tax invoice carries your TRN and the buyer's, the date of supply where it differs from the invoice date, and the VAT rate, VAT and amount payable on every row. When the buyer has no TRN, a simplified tax invoice is printed instead.
Exempt and zero-rated supplies
Each row is standard rated, zero rated, exempt or out of scope. The default comes from the duty type or billing item and can be changed for an invoice, a duty or a single row. An invoice with no taxable row is titled Invoice and shows no VAT.
VAT return and tax credit notes
A tax credit note refers to the original invoice and shows the difference in tax. The VAT return is laid out as the VAT 201, with standard rated sales by emirate and every figure traceable to its documents, plus a CSV export. You file it yourself on the FTA's portal.
TRN, emirate and PO Box
The TRN is checked to be 15 digits. Your company, its billing companies and your clients each carry an emirate and a PO Box, and both print on invoices and credit notes.
Dubai time, Saturday and Sunday off
Trips and reports use UAE time. Saturday and Sunday are the days off and the week starts on Monday. A company can change both.
UAE documents
Vehicle documents (Mulkiya, limousine permit from the RTA or ITC, insurance, Salik or Darb tag) and driver documents (driving licence, Emirates ID, residence visa, limousine driver permit, passport, labour card) are tracked with expiry alerts. A driver whose licence, visa or driver permit has lapsed is blocked from allotment by default.
Arabic and English
The admin console and the driver, customer and dispatcher apps are available in Arabic and English, and documents can be printed in both languages. English is the default.
WhatsApp and SMS
Trip notices, duty slip approval links and reminders go out from your own WhatsApp Business account, with a shared inbox for replies. SMS goes through your own Twilio or Unifonic account; the SMS connectors are built to the providers' published APIs, and we test them on your account during setup.
Payment links in AED
Send a pay link for an invoice through your own Stripe or PayTabs account, and the invoice is settled when the gateway confirms the payment. These two connectors are built to the providers' published APIs, and we test them on your account during setup.
E-invoices in the PINT AE format
Tax invoices and tax credit notes are produced as UAE e-invoices in the PINT AE format and checked against its rules before they leave. Each one can be exported as a file to upload in your accredited service provider's portal, or sent through a provider connector. The first connector is built to the provider's published API and is awaiting sandbox confirmation, so we confirm it on your account during setup. Not certified by the FTA.
UAE payroll, gratuity and WPS file
A UAE payroll pack that you switch on: end-of-service gratuity or the savings scheme in its place, pension for UAE and other GCC nationals, overtime, and the WPS salary file (SIF) for your bank. The pack is pending professional confirmation: its rates and limits are settings you confirm with your payroll adviser before a real pay run.
Flight tracking for airport transfers
Flights on your bookings are refreshed automatically through a flight data provider (AviationStack or AeroDataBox) on your own key. Dispatch is alerted when a flight is more than 20 minutes late (you set the threshold), cancelled, diverted or landed, and sees a recommended pickup time.
Nothing on this page is tax advice. Which VAT treatment a service takes, above all whether local passenger transport is exempt for your company, is for your tax agent to decide.
What is not included, or not proven yet
We would rather you read the limits here than find them in a demo.
- E-invoicing through a provider is not proven live
- E-invoices are built in the PINT AE format and can be exported as files today. The connector that sends them through an accredited service provider is built to the provider's published API and is awaiting sandbox confirmation: it has not yet been run against the provider's service. MobilityDrive is not an accredited service provider itself and is not certified by the FTA.
- RTA and ITC platforms
- There is no integration with the RTA, the ITC, Salik or Darb: no permit checks, no trip reporting and no toll statements. Permits and tags are tracked as documents with expiry dates. MobilityDrive is not approved or certified by any UAE regulator, and we do not claim to be.
- Payroll rates are yours to confirm
- UAE payroll with end-of-service gratuity, pension and the WPS salary file is built as a pack you switch on, and it is pending professional confirmation. The day counts, percentages, salary limits and bank codes are settings you confirm with your payroll adviser; our defaults are a reading of published rules, not advice.
- Other limits
- Invoices are raised in AED only, sales under the reverse charge are not raised, and input tax apportionment for a company with exempt income is left to your tax agent.
